    Park Plaza Westminster Bridge (6 nights)

    The tour will commence at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, our hotel for the next six nights. For those arriving early in the day, there’s time to explore London before a short welcome briefing with our CATO Tour Director. This evening we join many other Australian supporters at the Official Ashes Dinner Function to get a superb insight into our cricket celebrities’ thoughts on the Series ahead and Day One at Lord’s.

    Possibly one of the highlights for any cricket enthusiast would be a trip to the home of cricket - Lord’s, add the fact that this is the Second Ashes Test and excitement will be at fever pitch! Each day we travel to Lord’s by London Underground – your Tour Director will be close by to assist throughout.

    Today we start our tour to Dublin. We will be transferred to one of London’s airports for the short flight to Dublin, one of the world’s most popular cities filled with vibrant art, historic buildings, cafes and traditional pubs. On arrival in Dublin, we will have a short orientation tour of the city before visiting the Guinness Storehouse to explore the story of Guinness, Ireland’s most iconic beer. Enjoy a sample while taking in the 360 views of Dublin city from the Gravity Bar. This evening we will enjoy a traditional dinner at a local Dublin restaurant before exploring the Temple Bar area and Dublin’s famous "rolling" nightlife.

    After breakfast we take a walking tour of the city. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the highlights of Dublin. This beautiful city has so much to see and do. Some of the must-see attractions include the Jamieson Distillery, St Patricks Cathedral, Old Gaol, Dublin Zoo or enjoy afternoon tea in famous Bewleys Grafton Street Café with freshly baked buns, treats and barista tea and coffee. Dublin is full of traditional Irish pubs and bars you can experience this evening at your leisure - perhaps enjoy a jig to some traditional Irish music.

    This morning we will be transferred to Dublin airport for the short flight to Manchester. On arrival in Manchester we will travel to the other side of the Pennines to our home for the duration of the tour in the White Rose County of Yorkshire.

    There’s time to freshen up at the hotel before attending this evening’s Official Ashes Function to celebrate the Series so far and hear our cricket celebrities’ thoughts on tomorrow’s Test at Headingley.

    The start of another exciting Test! Each day we will be transferred well in advance of the start of play for the Third Ashes Test at Headingley, with a return transfer to your hotel at the end of each days play. On the night of Day Five (10 July), we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner with our new friends to share some unforgettable memories.

Important Information

This Fully Escorted Tour includes:

  • Priority reserved seating at the Second and Third Ashes Tests (see Important Notes)

  • Visitor Oyster Card in London pre-loaded with £50 of credit
  • Ashes Pre Match Dinner in London (27 June) including entertainment, 3 course set menu dinner and beverages
  • Ashes Pre Match Function in Leeds (5 July) including entertainment, finger food and beverages
  • Private match strategy session with CA Team Management and/or former Test greats
  • Group dinners in Dublin (3 July) and Leeds (10 July)
  • Admission to the Guinness Storehouse (3 July) and walking tour of Dublin (4 July)

  • International airfare to/from the United Kingdom.
  • Airport arrival and departure transfers (see information below)
  • Porterage and baggage handling, as most guests prefer to handle their own baggage. The CATO Tour Director will be available to facilitate baggage handling if required.
  • Any meal or item not mentioned in the itinerary or specified in Tour Inclusions above.
  • Items of a personal nature (telephone calls, internet, laundry, mini-bar, etc.).
  • Passport and/or visa costs where applicable.
  • Travel insurance.
Important Notes:
  • Tours are limited and subject to availability at the time of booking.
  • Day One to Four match tickets provide a reserved seat and Day Five may be general admission (non-reserved) or reserved seat depending on final ground configuration.

Airport arrival and departure transfers
Arrival and departure transfers have not been included in the tour, as many CATO clients have opted not to use these services in the past. Once your flights are confirmed, CATO will be more than happy to provide a quote for arrival and departure transfers.
Arrival and extra nights’ accommodation
All Escorted Tours commence the day before the start of the Ashes Test Match. For those wanting a more relaxed start to the tour, extra nights’ accommodation can be added to your stay. Please contact your CATO sales consultant for costs.
