Booking Conditions

Thank you for booking with Cricket Australia Travel Office (CATO). Please carefully read these terms and conditions as they form the basis for CATO accepting your booking.

General Information
  • Tours and Travel Packages are limited and subject to availability. All prices are in Australian dollars.
  • When entering names on the CATO website, please ensure the spelling matches the individual’s passport.
  • In relation to bookings where more than one passenger is travelling, the person making the reservation on behalf of his/her travelling companions guarantees that they have authority to accept all the Booking Terms and Conditions on behalf of all of his/her travelling companions.
  • On dispatch of the booking confirmation, the Agreement with CATO forms and is binding. If the booking is subsequently cancelled, cancellation charges set our below will apply.
  • The match schedule is current as at September 2022. Cricket Australia (CA) and/or the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) reserve the right in their absolute discretion to change or amend the international program at any time, without notice.
Health, Fitness and Mobility

A reasonable level of health, fitness and mobility is a requirement for most tours. If you have any health, fitness or mobility restrictions, you must contact CATO at the time of booking for advice on the requirements for individual tours as activities on certain tours may be inaccessible to you if your mobility is limited in any way. Where possible CATO will endeavour to make reasonable adjustments to accommodate your needs however, we cannot do so if the adjustment required would affect your safety and/or the safety and/or enjoyment of other passengers. If you require special assistance or care, you must travel with a companion capable of providing the required assistance or care.

Payments

A non-refundable deposit equal to 30% of the booking value is required to secure your arrangements. The balance is payable on/before 1 February 2023. If payments are not received by the due date, reservations may be automatically cancelled without notice.

Responsibility for Payment

The person making the booking is responsible and liable for payment for his/her booking and the bookings of any travelling companions. A third party may make payment on behalf of the person making the booking however, the Agreement remains with the person making the booking regardless of who has made payment.

Cancellations

Following full payment, all cancellations (including no-shows) will incur a cancellation fee equal to 100%. Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Product Description and Images

Descriptions and images on the CATO website are based on current information provided by hotels and ground suppliers. Any facilities shown as included are subject to change at any time. The standard of accommodation and other services are based on various factors which are generally accepted as indicative of a certain class; however, we do not guarantee the standard, class, or fitness for purpose of that accommodation or service. Hotel ratings are those suggested by relevant local authorities or our representative, and may vary from Tourist Office ratings. Where applicable, images featured are shown for general information and may not necessarily reflect actual locations or tour inclusions.

Hotel Check-in/Check-out

Check-in time at most hotels is 3:00pm and your room(s) may not be available for immediate occupancy should you arrive prior to this time. It is possible to ensure immediate availability by paying the extra day’s tariff, booking rooms for the night before arrival. Check-out time at most hotels is 10:00am. Rooms still occupied after the designated checkout time may incur charges that would be payable directly to the hotel.

Hotel Information

Health and Safety: You must fully comply with health and safety policies of individual hotels, copies are available on request. For reasons of security, individual hotels may request to search guest belongings and equipment.

Hotel Corkage: Unless prior consent has been obtained, there may be restrictions at individual hotels on bringing wines, spirits, food or beverages to hotel grounds for consumption. Corkage charges may apply.

Change of Hotels: If for any reason the hotel(s) nominated in the tour itinerary are unavailable, an alternative will be sought/offered. If, after confirmation, the hotel becomes unavailable, you will be assigned to a hotel of equal standard.

Prices and Price Changes

Prices are based on currency exchange rates effective 3 October 2022. They are quoted in Australian Dollars inclusive of all taxes and charges and are GST free unless otherwise indicated. Prices quoted by CATO are subject to change without notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as fluctuation in exchange rates, or an increase in government taxes. Any currency fluctuations or increases in Australian or foreign government taxes will be passed on to clients.

Goods and Services Tax

All goods and services offered for sale in this and associated documents which are provided outside of Australia are exempt from Australian Goods and Services Tax. However, where applicable, for goods and services and other items connected with Australia, Goods and Services Tax will apply. This is subject to change at any time should legislation be enacted affecting the current treatment of the Australian Goods and Services Tax upon the goods and services provided.

Delivery of Merchandise

Postage and handling is included for Australian residents. Postage outside of Australia will incur additional cost. CATO will update clients on the timeframe for delivery as details are finalised.

Loss of Play Due To Inclement Weather

Each venue has its own policy attached to refunds for loss of play due to inclement weather. These policies have not yet been made available to CA or CATO. CATO will communicate individual refund policies to all clients in advance of their departure for England, most likely with your travel documentation.

Methods of Payment

All payments must be made in Australian Dollars; payment in any other currency will not be accepted. For bookings made within Australia, CATO accepts payment by credit card/debit card, direct deposit or BPAY. For bookings made outside of Australia, CATO accepts credit card only.

  • Credit Card/Debit Card: CATO accepts credit card/debit card payments subject to following fees: Visa/MasterCard 1.32% of the amount payable, American Express 2% of the amount payable. This fee will be added to the amount due as detailed on your invoice. The American Express fee is non-refundable except where you are entitled to a refund under the Australian Consumer Law.
  • Please note: CATO does not accept payments via Virtual Credit Cards.
  • The credit card/debit card used to pay for a booking must belong to the person in whose name the booking is held, the cardholder must also be attending the event. For security purposes, in the situation where this is not possible CATO will require a clear copy of either the cardholder’s driver’s licence or passport as proof of identity. The cardholder will also be required to return a signed credit card form authorising CATO to charge the nominated card.
  • BPAY: A fee of AU$1.15 applies. Details of the CATO Biller Code and individual BPAY payment reference number will appear on your invoice.
  • Direct Deposit: Bank account details will be listed on your invoice. CATO is not liable for remitting bank fees, please make any arrangements necessary to cover such fees.
  • Due to an increase in fraudulent activity, please note the following:
    • Requests for the refund of overpayments via BPAY and Direct Deposit will take up to 30 business days. Requests will not be processed until the recipient has been adequately identified.
    • Requests for a refund to be credited to a bank account, other than that used for the payment in question, will require a Statutory Declaration.
Passports and Visas

Passport and visa requirements are not the responsibility of CATO. Each person (including infants) requires a valid passport. Passports must have at least 6 months validity from the date of your return to Australia. For up to-date advice on visas required for overseas travel, Australians should contact the nearest embassy or consulate of the country they intend to visit well in advance of travel. Visas may take several weeks to process. We recommend all travellers review the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain website at: www.gov.uk. CATO is not liable for any loss or expense due to a passenger’s failure to comply with the above. Please note, the name on your booking/invoice must match the name and spelling as it appears on your passport.

Costs Not Included

Costs of passports or visas, meals and sightseeing other than those specified in the itinerary, gratuities/tips (unless stated), excess baggage charges, personal items such as phone calls, laundry and insurance are not included in any CATO tour or package costs.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended to cover you against loss of deposit or final monies paid because of unavoidable cancellation due to illness or other causes, personal baggage loss, medical expenses etc.

Health and Immigration

Travellers should familiarise themselves with any health or visa requirement that may be applicable in the areas they intend visiting, and they shall be responsible for all exit, entry, health and other documents required by laws, regulations, orders, demands or requirements of the countries visited or transited.

Safety and Security throughout UK and Europe

For current information and up to date travel advice, please visit the website of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade www.smarttraveller.gov.au. You can subscribe via this site to receive email updates when there are changes to travel advisories for your destination. It is also recommended that all Australians register with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade via www.smarttraveller.gov.au before travelling overseas, this will assist in locating you in the case of an emergency.

Consumer Protection

General Travel Group Pty Ltd trades under licence from Cricket Australia as Cricket Australia Travel Office. All CATO clients are protected under Australian Consumer Law; for further details visit www.accc.gov.au.

For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

  • to cancel your service contract with us; and
  • to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.

You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.

Agreement

These Booking Terms and Conditions (effective October 2022) supersede any previous version published by CATO. In making this booking and/or amendments thereto, you agree to be bound by the Booking Terms and Conditions and take responsibility for ensuring that all travelling companions also comply. The booking Agreement is between CATO and the person making the booking. Any prior arrangements, agreements, representations or undertakings are superseded.

Law of Contract

These Booking Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria and any action arising under them or in any way connected with the travel arrangements may be bought only in a court in Victoria, subject to any law that is expressly inconsistent with this.

Conditions of Responsibility

General Travel Group Pty Ltd trading as the Cricket Australia Travel Office ABN 85 003 133 551 gives notice that:

All final travel documentation, tickets and coupons issued by them, or on their behalf, and all arrangements for hotel accommodation, functions, entry tickets, transport and conveyance are made by them as agents or operators upon the express conditions that they are not liable for any personal injury, death, damage, loss, accident, sickness or delay in carrying out the arrangements of the tour(s), or through the acts or defaults of any passenger, or otherwise in connection with any of CATO’s third party suppliers for any failures on the part of the third party supplier, to the extent permitted by law.

The transportation companies or firms concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on board their aircraft or conveyance. The passage contract in use by the carriers concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the transportation companies or firms and the purchaser of these tours and/or passengers.

Should any damage be caused by a passenger to the property, contents or grounds of the hotel accommodation, or to the property of a third party supplier in carrying out the arrangements of the tours, the cost of repairing any damage caused by the passenger will be the responsibility of the passenger and must be paid by the passenger to the hotel and/or third party supplier forthwith.

Should any passenger be refused entry to accommodation, transportation, event venue or excursion CATO will have no further responsibility or liability to the passenger.

The passenger shall at all times be liable, without limitation, for any statement or conduct that (in CATO’s absolute discretion) is defamatory, racist, disorderly, offensive, likely to cause or stir any threatening behaviour or may bring CATO and/or the name, CATO into disrepute.

CATO accepts no responsibility for loss or additional expenses that may be incurred for any disruptions, delays or changes in transportation or any of the services, sickness, personal injury, weather, strikes, any action taken by any government or semi-government authority, pandemics, lockouts, war, terrorism, earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruption, or any other causes which could not have been foreseen or avoided by CATO or its third party suppliers even if all due care had been exercised. Should there be any disruptions or delays it will be the responsibility of the passenger to contact CATO.

The liability of CATO is limited, where it is liable, to refunding the price of the service or product.
