Clayton Hotel Birmingham (6 nights)
The tour will commence at the Clayton Hotel Birmingham, your hotel for the next six nights. For those arriving early in the day, there’s time to explore Birmingham before a short welcome briefing with our CATO Tour Director. This evening we attend the Official Ashes Function to get a superb insight into our cricket celebrities’ thoughts on the Series ahead and Day One at Edgbaston.
The start of another exciting Series! Each day you will be transferred well in advance of the start of play for the First Ashes Test at Edgbaston, with a return transfer to your hotel at the end of each day’s play.
Dikker & Thijs Hotel(2 nights)
Today we start our European tour. After breakfast we transfer to Birmingham Airport to take a short flight across the North Sea to Amsterdam, the 17th century capital and most populous city of the Netherlands and colloquially referred to as the “Venice of the North” due to the large number of canals. On arrival at the hotel, enjoy some time at your leisure to explore Amsterdam – perhaps visit the world renowned Van Gogh Museum or Rijksmuseum prior to enjoying dinner at a local restaurant in the evening.

We complete the day with a private Canal tour along the canal belt (created to keep the sea at bay), for a quintessential postcard-perfect vision of Amsterdam, a great way to learn lots of fascinating facts about the city - such as why the tilting homes along the canals are known as ‘dancing houses’. The evening is at your leisure to continue your exploration of this vibrant city.
Grand Hotel Casselbergh (2 nights)
Today we start the journey to Bruges. After breakfast we join our private coach to travel to Bruges. We travel through stunning scenery, with a stop enroute, before our arrival in Bruges. Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders the Flemish Region of Belgium. Distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets and medieval buildings, our first night in this historic city is at your leisure. Explore the nightlife with the numerous restaurants, cafes and bars.

Our day starts with a guided walking tour through Bruges’ medieval cobblestone streets which lead to many historical, architectural, and artistic wonders. Marvel at the ornate houses lining intricate canals, experience the waterways and the historical centre, Burg Square. Possibly visit one of the world-renowned Belgium Chocolatiers for a taste of their amazing chocolate. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Pullman Paris Montparnasse (2 nights)
After breakfast we commence our journey to Paris. We travel through Northern France visiting the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux. We continue our tour to the Sir John Monash Centre nearby which is a museum and interpretive centre that commemorates Australian servicemen and women who served on the Western Front during the First World War. After these poignant visits we will move on to Paris, known as the “City of Love”.

See the Arc De Triomphe, Champs Elysees, Place De La Concorde and the Eiffel Tower, some of the most recognised landmarks in the world. This evening is at your leisure to explore this magical city.
Novotel London Blackfriars (6 nights)
Today we conclude the European leg of our tour. We board the Eurostar at Gare Du Nord station and enjoy a relaxing journey to London where the 2nd Test awaits. On arrival at London St Pancras, we will be transferred to our hotel.
On arrival there’s time to relax at the hotel before we join many other Australian supporters at the Official Ashes Dinner Function in the evening to preview the Test ahead at Lord’s.
Hide infoPossibly one of the highlights for any cricket enthusiast would be a trip to the home of cricket - Lord’s, add the fact that this is the Second Ashes Test and excitement will be at fever pitch! Each day we travel to Lord’s by London Underground and on the night of Day Five (2 July) we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at a local London restaurant to share some unforgettable memories.
After breakfast, your tour will conclude at the hotel.
