    The tour will commence at the Crowne Plaza Leeds, our hotel for the next six nights. For those arriving early in the day, there’s time to explore Leeds before a short welcome briefing with our CATO Tour Director. This evening we attend the Official Ashes Function to get a superb insight into our cricket celebrities’ thoughts on the Series ahead and Day One at Headingley.

    The Europa Hotel (2 nights)

    Our Irish adventure starts this morning. After breakfast we transfer to Leeds Bradford airport for the short flight over the Irish Sea to Belfast, the Capital of Northern Ireland. On arrival in Belfast we enjoy a short orientation tour of the city including a visit to the Titanic Museum, the world’s largest Titanic visitor attraction. This afternoon there is time to freshen up before we experience a traditional Irish dinner at a local Belfast restaurant.

    After breakfast we head to the Northeast Coast of Northern Ireland to view “The Giant’s Causeway”, an awe-inspiring basalt rock formation which materialised as the result of an ancient volcanic eruption 50-60 million years ago. We will then tour this striking area before heading back to Belfast, taking in some of Northern Irelands most scenic areas along the way.

    This morning we start the journey west by coach towards Galway, a harbour city where the River Corrib meets the Atlantic Ocean. Known as the festival capital of Ireland creating a lively atmosphere combined with stunning scenery. The city’s hub is the 18th century Eyre Square, a popular spot surrounded by shops and traditional pubs often offering live Irish folk music. On arrival in Galway you are free to explore the city at your leisure.

    Today we head to Dublin, the Capital of Ireland, and one of the world’s most popular cities. We take a short stop along the way before arriving in Dublin where you can enjoy the evening at your leisure to explore the Temple Bar area – perhaps enjoy a jig to some traditional Irish music, and experience Dublin’s famous “rolling” nightlife.

This beautiful city has so much to see and do - some of the must-see attractions include the Jamieson Distillery, St Patricks Cathedral, Old Gaol, Dublin Zoo, or enjoy afternoon tea in famous Bewleys Grafton Street Café.

Airport arrival and departure transfers
Arrival and departure transfers have not been included in the tour, as many CATO clients have opted not to use these services in the past. Once your flights are confirmed, CATO will be more than happy to provide a quote for arrival and departure transfers.
Arrival and extra nights’ accommodation
All Escorted Tours commence the day before the start of the Ashes Test Match. For those wanting a more relaxed start to the tour, extra nights’ accommodation can be added to your stay. Please contact your CATO sales consultant for costs.
