    The tour will commence at the Clayton Hotel Birmingham, your hotel for the next six nights. For those arriving early in the day, there’s time to explore Birmingham before a short welcome briefing with our CATO Tour Director. This evening we attend the Official Ashes Function to get a superb insight into our cricket celebrities’ thoughts on the Series ahead and Day One at Edgbaston.

    Today we start our European tour. After breakfast we transfer to Birmingham Airport to take a short flight across the North Sea to Amsterdam, the 17th century capital and most populous city of the Netherlands and colloquially referred to as the “Venice of the North” due to the large number of canals. On arrival at the hotel, enjoy some time at your leisure to explore Amsterdam – perhaps visit the world renowned Van Gogh Museum or Rijksmuseum prior to enjoying dinner at a local restaurant in the evening.

    After breakfast we commence our journey to Paris. We travel through Northern France visiting the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux. We continue our tour to the Sir John Monash Centre nearby which is a museum and interpretive centre that commemorates Australian servicemen and women who served on the Western Front during the First World War. After these poignant visits we will move on to Paris, known as the “City of Love”.

    Today we conclude the European leg of our tour. We board the Eurostar at Gare Du Nord station and enjoy a relaxing journey to London where the 2nd Test awaits. On arrival at London St Pancras, we will be transferred to our hotel.

    On arrival there’s time to relax at the hotel before we join many other Australian supporters at the Official Ashes Dinner Function in the evening to preview the Test ahead at Lord’s.

    Possibly one of the highlights for any cricket enthusiast would be a trip to the home of cricket - Lord’s, add the fact that this is the Second Ashes Test and excitement will be at fever pitch! Each day we travel to Lord’s by London Underground and on the night of Day Five (2 July) we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at a local London restaurant to share some unforgettable memories.

  • Day One to Four match tickets provide a reserved seat and Day Five may be general admission (non-reserved) or reserved seat depending on final ground configuration.

Airport arrival and departure transfers
Arrival and departure transfers have not been included in the tour, as many CATO clients have opted not to use these services in the past. Once your flights are confirmed, CATO will be more than happy to provide a quote for arrival and departure transfers.
Arrival and extra nights’ accommodation
All Escorted Tours commence the day before the start of the Ashes Test Match. For those wanting a more relaxed start to the tour, extra nights’ accommodation can be added to your stay. Please contact your CATO sales consultant for costs.
