    The tour will commence at the Clayton Hotel Birmingham, your hotel for the next six nights. For those arriving early in the day, there’s time to explore Birmingham before a short welcome briefing with our CATO Tour Director. This evening we attend the Official Ashes Function to get a superb insight into our cricket celebrities’ thoughts on the Series ahead and Day One at Edgbaston.

    The Isles of Glencoe (2 nights)

    Today we start our tour North with a trip across the Firth of Forth with views of the old Forth Road and Rail Bridges from the new Queensferry crossing. We travel through the picturesque scenery of Perth and Pitlochry before visiting one of the many distilleries at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands. Enjoy a tour and tasting prior to your afternoon arrival at The Isles of Glencoe, our hotel for the next two nights. The hotel is situated at the foot of Glencoe by the shores of Loch Linnhe where we will enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel in the evening.

    Our journey today starts with a poignant stop at the Commando Memorial, a memorial dedicated to the commanders who died in WWII, and providing photo opportunities of the Lochaber region, previously their training ground. The shores of Loch Ness await. Learn about the fabled Loch Ness Monster and enjoy a cruise on the famous Loch from Fort Augustus. Continuing our day, we travel to the Ben Nevis Range Mountain Gondola, the only one of its kind in the UK, where we climb aboard this scenic ride and take in the stunning views of Aonach Mor Mountain. It is then a short journey back to our hotel where we enjoy drinks by the side of the Loch prior to dinner at the hotel.

    Today we travel to London for the Second exciting Ashes Test at Lord’s. After breakfast we will be transferred to Edinburgh Airport for our flight to London, passing the spectacular The Kelpies, 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures depicting kelpies (shape-shifting water spirits), located between Falkirk and Grangemouth.

    On our arrival in London there’s time to relax at the hotel before joining many other Australian supporters for the Official Ashes Dinner Function to get a superb insight into our cricket celebrities’ thoughts on the Series ahead and Day One at historic Lord’s.

    Possibly one of the highlights for any cricket enthusiast would be a trip to the home of cricket - Lord’s, add the fact that this is the Second Ashes Test and excitement will be at fever pitch! Each day we travel to Lord’s by London Underground and on the night of Day Five (2 July) we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at a local London restaurant to share some unforgettable memories.

Airport arrival and departure transfers
Arrival and departure transfers have not been included in the tour, as many CATO clients have opted not to use these services in the past. Once your flights are confirmed, CATO will be more than happy to provide a quote for arrival and departure transfers.
Arrival and extra nights’ accommodation
All Escorted Tours commence the day before the start of the Ashes Test Match. For those wanting a more relaxed start to the tour, extra nights’ accommodation can be added to your stay. Please contact your CATO sales consultant for costs.
